The company is headquartered in Arlington, VA www.wpni.com Tim Ruder, Vice President, Marketing Tim Ruder is vice president of marketing for Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive. In this role, Ruder is responsible for leading the company's marketing, communication and customer relationship strategies. He also oversees operations for WPNI's suite of products, including washingtonpost.com, Jobs, Newsweek.MSNBC.com, and TechNews.com. A seasoned Internet business professional, Ruder has been with The Washington Post Company since 1989, becoming a member of the WPNI team in 1995. In that time, Ruder has served in various marketing, sales, business development and operational roles. Immediately prior to his current position, Ruder was the local vice president, responsible for the company's regional market strategy, initiatives and operations. Under his leadership, washingtonpost.com achieved the highest reach of any local site in its market and claimed multiple industry awards recognizing excellence. His efforts have been critical to the success of WPNI in securing washingtonpost.com's prominence in the local market and positioning it for the future. Ruder's former positions within WPNI include director of onwashington.com, director of online classifieds and product manager. In these roles, he was involved in all aspects of initiating and launching new products and business lines for WPNI. Ruder's efforts have been identified as an integral part of the successful launch and evolution of washingtonpost.com's suite of award winning e-commerce Web services. Ruder worked for The Washington Post from 1989 to 1995 in various sales and marketing positions. During his tenure there, he was twice awarded the Publisher's Award for Outstanding Sales. Before joining The Washington Post Company, Ruder was business manager and publisher of The Washington Monthly magazine. Ruder earned his MBA from George Mason University and is a graduate of Purdue University. He lives in Reston, Va., with his wife, Shannon, and three children. |
